Book 1 - Yin Yang Mystery Series

Gilda Wright thinks she's landed a dream job managing a karate school. Sure, her boss, Sensei Mick Williams, is almost as demanding as he is sexy, but Gilda is inspired by the strength of people around her and hopes to absorb some of that into her own life. But when Gilda finds the body of one of the instructors, laying in the dojo with a sword through his chest, suddenly Gilda must find her own inner strength and fast! The police see everyone as a suspect, including her boss, and it's up to Gilda to find out what really happened. She follows the clues of the missing scroll of the Four Possessions of the Samurai down a deadly path, filled with lies, deceit, and poisoned ninja stars! If she doesn't watch her step, she just may become the killer's next sparring partner.

JUZDIZRTS Author Event took place at Archtop Cafe & Music in Bolton, Ontario on Saturday November 8th, 2014. I got to meet a lot of great local authors, have a cup of coffee and do a reading from The Bookstore Lady!

Send Winter Packing Day at BookLore
March 22, 2014
After a long, miserable winter, BookLore hosted this fun event to bring people out of their caves! They invited me to appear at 1pm to do a reading and sign books. While the turnout was hampered by yet more snow, everyone had a great time!

What's it about?

The Bookstore Lady
Wild Blue Mysteries

Danny  Walker is tracking Paulina Chourney who fell deep into the dark side of life and  is lucky to get out before her boyfriend Maddox kills her. She escapes Maddox  and arrives in a small town, which she sees as a blessing in disguise since the  men she worked for would never think to look for her in a lazy, backwater place like Packham. She changes her name to Katie Mullins, makes a deal on a little  bookstore and joins a local writing group then successfully fades into  anonymity. Until Danny Walker shows up to visit family and figures out who she  is.

When  Paulina catches her 80-year-old landlady Hilda Clayton sneaking out in the middle of the night, the bad guys catch up to her and Danny disappears. Katie  has to choose between spending her life on the run or standing up to face her  past. Hopefully before the quirky townsfolk turn her death into a  spectacle.

The Bookstore Lady is now available at Amazon, BookLore and Aardvark Music!

The Bookstore Lady Will be published soon!

HWG Author Day at BookLore November 17, 2012

Picture
Sometimes book launches are best shared with friends. Fortunate for me, the Headwaters Writers' Guild was invited to do a fun afternoon of readings, snacking and book buying this past Saturday. Included in the frivolities were local authors: Jayne E. Self  (author of Harbourlight's Seaglass Mysteries) ; Harry Posner (Charivari) ; Ruth Cunningham (Mystical Verses) ; Kelli Curtis (Amber and the Fallen Bridge) ; Diane Bator (Murder on Manitou) ; Joe Gilbey (Langsdorff of the Graf Spee: Prince of Honor, Kriegsmarine: Admiral Raeder's Navy: A Broken Dream) ; David Chesterton (Twelfth Night in Royal Blue) and June Hustler (Kindred).
We were fortunate to have not only friends and family there to join us, but also local media. During my reading, I had to contend with a hovering photographer (You can see the back of his head here!) It was a fun experience and I certainly look forward to my next one!
Wednesday night, November 21, two more members of our group, Marilyn Kleiber and Gloria Nye will be launching their novels. Another fun event for the HWG!

Print Copies of Murder on Manitou
Published by Wynterblue Publishing, Sept 2012

Picture
The e-book was downloaded 576 times in the span of 9 months, so I decided to take things to the next level. I bought 100 print copies to see what happened. So far I have sold several and still have a handful available!
Now the real work begins. Getting the rest of the world to discover what I can do! Good thing I have my biggest fans - my family to whom the book is dedicated - behind me!

Winner of the Wynterblue Publishing 2010 'Murder in Ink' Mystery Writing Contest
Published on Amazon as and e-book in January 2012

Picture

The year long contest was put on by Wynterblue Publishing and based loosely on a murder mystery party game and had to be a minimum of 16,000 words and only 10 chapters long. It was the first time I'd written a murder mystery and found it a lot of fun.

It was released as an Amazon e-book on January 16, 2012.

Photo Shoot for Front Cover of HWG's A Walk in Fields of Gold

Just a disclaimer that no canola was maimed or killed during this shoot!
The writers, however...
We all had a great time, got covered in pollen and Richard took a great cover for our anthology.

A Walk in Fields of Gold: An Anthology of Prose and Poetry

Published by Spiral Press in December 2010 for the Headwaters Writers' Guild. A second run was printed in 2011.
It is available at Amazon.com.

Stories of Prayers and Faith

Published by Spiral Press in 2010. The authors of Stories of Prayers and Faith, published by Spiral Press.
This photo was taken at our author greet in Eramosa Eden, a great place for retreats and just getting away from everything!  The building below is called Gaia House, a favourite retreat for the Headwaters Writers' Guild in past years. The kids spent the day meeting writers and watching bats swoop over our heads!
The photo of several authors of stories in the anthology was taken at Eramosa Eden Retreat in April of 2010. That's me in the photo top row, far right!
